Description
This course introduces students to the area of artistic interpreting which includes theatrical and musical productions, song lyric and poetry translation and platform interpreting techniques.

Please note: Students MUST earn a C or better in this course for completion of the BAS Deaf Studies.

Student Learning Outcomes

Translate song lyrics into semantically correct American Sign Language.
Perform selected texts, poems and songs using techniques for artistic interpreting.
Actively participate in class activities demonstrating skills in affect, register variations and text analysis.
Apply artistic interpreting techniques in practicum settings.

Prerequisite: AM 306 with a grade of C or higher; or instructor approval
