Compare and contrast natural and acquired immunity.
Differentiate the characteristics and functions of antigens and antibodies in the immune response; blood group systems; and blood group antibodies.
Differentiate characteristics and principles of test methodology for agglutination; precipitation; labeled immunoassays; and crossmatching.
Describe the characteristics of the various infectious diseases.
Interpret serologic laboratory test results for the infectious diseases; blood group typing; antibody screening; antibody identification; and transfusion reactions.
Describe the criteria used for blood donation requirements and donor testing.
