CRS 213 - Cardiorespiratory Diagnostics

Description
Presents theoretical aspects of the cardiorespiratory diagnostic procedures, Holter recording, echocardiography, pulmonary function testing, stress testing, and basic polysomnography. Emphasizes application of acquired data to care plans.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Identify, prescribe treatment for, and Interpret waveforms related to ECG tracings, hemodynamics, arterial lines, and ventilators
  2. Demonstrate core fundamentals of stress testing, Holter monitoring, echocardiography, intra-aortic balloon pump procedures, procedures within the cath lab, and procedures related to coronary bypass graft surgery.
  3. Apply concepts of acute and chronic ventilatory management (invasive and non-invasive)
  4. Demonstrate pulmonary function equipment, testing technique, test-specific guidelines, and quality control and demonstrate proficiency in test interpretation.
