GLO 101 - Introduction to Global Studies Credits: 3 Description This course explores globalization and analyzes issues with global implications through a myriad of academic and theoretical frameworks.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Analyze contemporary global issues using appropriate terminology from a variety of appropriate disciplines.
- Articulate differing value systems and their relevance to various approaches to analysis.
- Articulate the interdependence of systems in a global economy.
- Outline economic and cultural interrelationships relevant to global issues.
- Evaluate the role and effectiveness of national and international institutions (both governmental and non-governmental) in addressing global issue.
- Identify, collect and interpret relevant domestic and international data and report on it in support of a thesis and major points.
- Demonstrate broad knowledge of global issues in general and in-depth knowledge of a particular global issue.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
