Student Learning Outcomes
- Analyze health record to ensure documentation supports the diagnosis and reflects the patient’s progress, clinical findings, and discharge status according to organizational policies and procedures.
- Apply organizational policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of patient health care data according to both internal and external regulations and standards.
- Adhere to the legal and regulatory requirements related to health information management.
- Evaluate policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance with regulations and standards.
- Analyze HIM job descriptions and evaluate staffing levels.
- Create training and development scenarios.
- Utilize confidentiality and security measures to protect electronic health information, data integrity, and validity with regards to software and hardware technology.
