An examination of the profession and tactics of lobbying and issue advocacy including the processes, laws, and traditions surrounding the industry.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Articulate knowledge related to lobbying and issue advocacy.
  2. Assess the role that lobbyists play in the political arena.
  3. Understand the congressional process and the influence of lobbyists on that process.
  4. Differentiate between lobbying on the national, state and local levels.
  5. Evaluate the role of the lobbyist within the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government.
