PSC 297 - Capstone in Political Science Credits: 2 Description This course provides a capstone experience in the field of political science, and provides preparation for both academic and non-academic careers in political science.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Analyze contemporary issues (global or domestic) using appropriate terminology from a variety of appropriate disciplines.
- Outline economic and cultural interrelationships that are relevant to a political issue.
- Evaluate the role and effectiveness of formal and informal institutions in the development of policy.
- Identify, collect and interpret relevant domestic and international data and report on it in support of a thesis and major points, including the use of maps, charts, and tables.
- Evaluate a specific domestic or global issue and related policies within the relevant historical, geographic, demographic, and environmental contexts.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills and the presentation of ideas.
