Student Learning Outcomes
- Define the terms, concepts and perspectives used in the study of abnormal psychology.
- Investigate diagnosis of mental illness using the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
- Identify the various categories of mental illness such as psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders and disorders of childhood.
- Examine current research findings regarding abnormal behavior and mental disorders.
- Describe effective treatments and interventions for specific types of mental disorders.
