APP 133B - Lead Renovator Credits: 1 Description This course will focus on the approved procedures for identifying lead-based paint hazards and minimizing lead dust generation and soil contamination during weatherization, maintenance, renovation and remodeling activities conducted on pre-1978 private housing and public use facilities.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Comprehend and use lead abatement related terminology.
- Apply tests and analyze results on surfaces to be disturbed.
- Establish containment zone, both interior and exterior, for the safe removal of lead-based hazards.
- Practice work activities using EPA and HUD approved techniques.
- Explain the health effects associated with lead-based paint exposure.
- Prepare and maintain required job-related documentation and records.
- Perform cleaning verification of the job site.
