Description
The basic techniques of lighting design including the historic, aesthetic, technical, and practical aspects for lighting in the entertainment industry.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Identify the use of theatrical lighting instruments and tools used for technical and design components of lighting in entertainment.
  2. Apply basic skills and theoretical approaches of design to complete a conceptual lighting design.
  3. Create lighting paperwork including light plots, cue lists, and instrument schedules to facilitate designs.
  4. Problem-solve lighting solutions for a variety of situations or locations.
  5. Create storyboards to convey lighting design elements.
