Description
Provides essentials of NEPA, how to work on interdisciplinary teams to prepare NEPA documents (Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements), and how to review these documents.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Communicate what NEPA does and how the NEPA process works with emphasis on how to identify significant impacts, how to develop appropriate alternatives, effective public involvement strategies, NEPA’s relationship to other environmental regulation and planning processes.
- Complete the EA process, keeping documents concise while fulfilling the legal and ethical requirements.
- Complete the EIS process, keeping documents concise while fulfilling the legal and ethical requirements.
- Crucially evaluate and review NEPA documents and communicate those comments in appropriate written submittals.
