AM 304 - Principles and Practices in InterpretingCredits: 4 This course includes a review of the history and development of the profession of sign language interpreting, the laws affecting the profession, various models of interpretation, standards of practice, the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf Code of Professional Conduct, professionalism, business practices, language and cultural implications and client assessment skills. This class is conducted in American Sign Language. Prerequisite(s): AM 149 and AM 152 .
