Description
This practice-oriented course focuses on further developing, fine-tuning, and diagnosing consecutive interpretation techniques, strategies and transliteration skills to achieve entry-level employment status. Tasks focus on American Sign Language, English and include discussion and incorporation of other communication modes used by Deaf people.

Student Learning Outcomes

Interpret and transliterate between English and American Sign Language on an entry level using consecutive interpreting strategies.
Use semantically correct English and American Sign Language.
Analyze source material to provide an accurate interpretation in the target language.
Provide an interpretation appropriate for various settings and register levels in English and American Sign Language.
