CRJ 233 - Nevada Criminal Law Credits: 3 Description To familiarize the CRJ student with Nevada Criminal Law as set forth in the Nevada Revised Statutes and as interpreted and tested in cases before the Nevada Courts.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Define the elements of major Nevada crimes under the Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS).
- Describe the procedure for charging an individual with a crime under the NRS.
- Explain Nevada’s criminal court structure.
- Differentiate punishments for Nevada misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors, and five classes of felonies.
- Analyze judicial opinions from Nevada’s appellate courts.
