SOC 210 - Introduction to Statistical MethodsSame as: PSY 210 Credits: 4 Description Study and practice with basic statistical methods especially useful in the presentation and interpretation of psychological, sociological and educational data, an introduction to common computer based statistical programs.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Define and explain basic terms and concepts used in statistics and measurement.
- Select, compute and interpret common descriptive statistics.
- Select, compute and interpret basic inferential statistics.
- Identify appropriate basic inferential statistics for use with more than two groups, more than one dependent variable, more than one independent variable, and categorical data.
- Interpret basic descriptive and inferential statistics generated by common statistics computer programs.
Prerequisite: MATH 95 with a grade of C or better; and SOC 101 or SOC 101H
