Description
A course in art fundamentals designed to develop a visual language. Emphasis on the application of the elements and principles of pictorial structure, point, line, shape, plane, space and color.

Student Learning Outcomes

Create two dimensional designs using: (a) line, (b) shape, (c) Space, (d) texture, (e) color.
Projects, tests, essays, observations, critiques.
Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between form and content.
Develop a sensitivity and appreciation of the dynamic role design plays in our everyday lives.
Critically analyze two-dimensional art using the terms listed in outcome No. 1.
Ability to successfully manipulate wet materials such as ink, paint and washes.
