PORT 101B - Basics of Portuguese I Credits: 3 Description A course emphasizing spoken communication. Speaking, oral listening, reading and writing skills explored. A vocabulary of Portuguese-English words developed.
Student Learning Outcomes
- The student will learn the correct pronunciation of the Portuguese alphabet and will be able to enunciate words in a comprehensible manner.
- The student will be able to create simple sentences in order to communicate on an everyday basis.
- The student will learn basic vocabulary related to everyday situations. For example, greetings and introductions, questions and answers, etc.
- The student will be able to answer questions in complete sentences on tests, exercises, etc., and to prepare their oral presentations.
- The student will recognize cultural differences in the Portuguese world.
