PSC 297 - Capstone in Political Science

Description
This course provides a capstone experience in the field of political science, and provides preparation for both academic and non-academic careers in political science.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Analyze contemporary issues (global or domestic) using appropriate terminology from a variety of appropriate disciplines.
  2. Outline economic and cultural interrelationships that are relevant to a political issue.
  3. Evaluate the role and effectiveness of formal and informal institutions in the development of policy.
  4. Identify, collect and interpret relevant domestic and international data and report on it in support of a thesis and major points, including the use of maps, charts, and tables.
  5. Evaluate a specific domestic or global issue and related policies within the relevant historical, geographic, demographic, and environmental contexts.
  6. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills and the presentation of ideas.
