RDTP 125B - Radiographic Process Credits: 2 Description This course provides the student with instruction on the principles of radiation production, interactions with matter detection, and protection. Students will also explore radiographic imaging, radiation therapy, and treatment planning.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Examine the basic structure of an atom and its properties.
- Identify and compare the different sources of ionizing radiation.
- Explain radioactivity.
- Differentiate between the different radiation interactions with matter.
- Examine the different types of radiation detection and measurement techniques.
- Explain radiation protection.
- Examine the x-ray beam in terms of the tube, production, emission and basic interactions.
- Differentiate between various imaging systems and procedures for operation.
- Interpret basic anatomy for radiographic positioning purposes.
