SPAN 224 - Mexican Culture Same as: LAS 224 Credits: 3 Description This course focuses on elements that contribute to the formation of the culture and identity of the Mexican nation: history, religion, music, art, food, movies and TV, traditions, celebrations and folklore, social realities, and the relationship with the U.S. Taught in English.

- Analyze the role of cinema, TV, music, and art in the formation of the Mexican identity.
- Understand the influence exerted by religion, traditions, gender roles, and education in the perpetuation of cultural beliefs and stereotypes.
