THTR 214 - Costume Technology

Description
Fundamentals of technical theatre production, with emphasis on familiarization with costume technology, and organization and construction techniques. A hands-on experience in sewing, pattern use, and costume construction. This course requires participation in shop or run crews for departmental productions.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Model responsibilities and relationships of costume technology and construction to the production process.
  2. Build costume garments using shop equipment and tools.
  3. Demonstrate basic and advanced machine sewing techniques.
  4. Classify fabric types and qualities of various materials.
  5. Create a patterned fashion item.
