THTR 260 - Costume Crafts & Cosplay

Description
Fundamentals of technical theatre production, with emphasis on familiarization with items such as fabric modification, shoe construction, accessories, millinery, jewelry, puppets, masks, and specialty costumes such as cosplay. Hands-On experience in sewing, pattern development, and garment and craft construction.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Demonstrate proficiency in skills including millinery, shoemaking, mask, puppet fabrication, and dying.
  2. Compare and contrast craft materials and techniques with their potential use for performance design for implementation in costumes, stage properties, and cosplay.
  3. Demonstrate safety techniques when utilizing costume craft materials. 
  4. Solve problems creatively to achieve a high level of cognitive analytical thinking demonstrated through problem-solving.
