THTR 270 - Prop Making for Theatre, Film, and TV

Description
This hands-on course covers fundamentals of prop making for theatre, prototyping, film and movie industries, cosplay, and other related fields. Students will work with timber, plastics, metals, resins, foams, and fabrics.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Develop budgets and plans for purchasing, renting, and/or building prop items for a production based on production details.
  2. Collaborate with designers and technicians to create show-specific props.
  3. Build prop items by selecting materials and determining a process for fabrication.
  4. Compare and contrast materials and discuss how they can be used to create 3D products.
  5. Operate fabrication tools including power tools, additive manufacturing, painting techniques, casting, molds, and sculpting.
