Description
Origins, evolution, taxonomy, biogeography, anatomy, physiology, behavior, and ecology of birds.  Mandatory field trips.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Recognize avian morphology, physiology, evolution, and ecology in a series of in-class objective exams.
  2. Develop critical thinking skills by understanding the relationships between bird structure, function, and evolutionary history.
  3. Identify functional adaptations and characteristics of various bird groups.
