DESCRIPTION

Coursework in this degree emphasizes theoretical knowledge, applied skills and business skills used by employees in computer network administration operations. Graduating students will be prepared to design, implement, and maintain wired and wireless computer networks. Hands-on and virtual lab components are used to augment and reinforce classroom and online coursework. Course learning outcomes parallels exam objectives for industry certifications offered by Cisco CCNA and CompTIA.

Student Learning Outcomes


  1. Differentiate the functions of networking components and protocols.
  2. Assemble a computer networking system.
  3. Specify configuration parameters to include: IP addressing v4 and v6, AAA, QoS prioritization, capacity and redundancy.
  4. Modify operating system configurations in client, server, and intermediary devices.
  5. Optimize operating system configurations in network intermediary devices.
