Welding Technology: Advanced Level Welder, AAS

DESCRIPTION

The Associate of Applied Science – Advanced Level Welder provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful employment in the welding industry. 

Continuation of COA requirements, students will receive additional instruction in Welding Inspection and Testing principals, structural welding code, fabrication and layout techniques, as well as the opportunity for advanced electives.

Upon successful completion of modules and levels throughout the degree students may receive National Welding Certifications awarded by the National Construction Certification Education and Research (NCCER) Education Foundation. These industry certifications prepare students for employment. Certifications are registered through the NCCER National Registry, providing transcripts and certificates that can be referenced by employers.

Students may receive NCCER Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Welding Certifications upon successful completion of this Associated of Applied Science.

Student Learning Outcomes


  1. Demonstrate proper safety practices during welding operations.
  2. Read and interpret blueprints.
  3. Cut, prepare and fabricate parts from blueprints and drawings.
  4. Set-up, maintain and perform minor repairs to welding and associated equipment.
  5. Perform satisfactory welds in all positions.
