RESTRICTED ENTRY PROGRAM

Students MUST be indentured in the Operating Engineers Apprenticeship Program before enrolling in classes. Special consideration will be given students who complete the Operating Maintenance Engineers Certificate of Achievement if they are affected by the retroactive six-year rule. For further information, contact the Division of Apprenticeship Studies at 702-651-4127.


DESCRIPTION

This degree prepares students for employment as a Surveyor with the Operating Engineers Union. Along with special program courses, academic skills emphasizing math, science and human relations are stressed to prepare students to meet the challenges common in the workplace.


COMPUTATION & HUMAN RELATIONS COMPONENTS

  • Computation: OPE 116B and OPE 117B
  • Human Relations: OPE 101B

 

Student Learning Outcomes


  1. Comprehend and utilize all applicable surveyors’ tools.
  2. Comprehend and utilize formulas used in the calculations of all phases of surveyor’s work.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and repair any problems that arise in surveyor’s work.
