Advanced Manufacturing: Machining, AAS

DESCRIPTION

Provides students with classroom and laboratory experiences in CADD, CAM, CNC, milling, turning and geometric dimension and tolerances. Program focuses on those skills used in manufacturing machining, industrial, and operation-support settings. Academic skills emphasizing related math, science, and human relations are stressed to prepare students to meet the challenges common in the workplace.

Student Learning Outcomes


  1. Use tools as it applies to each computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines. 
  2. Produce precision machined pieces within print specifications CNC machines. 
  3. Interpret GD&T symbology from machine print drawings. 
  4. Measure machined parts using Metrology tools for accuracy. 
  5. Create G-Code from CAD/CAM software. 
  6. Test for safety and machining certifications required for employment.
