This academic map should be used by CSN students who have been accepted into the CSN Cardiorespiratory Sciences Program.
HOW THIS ACADEMIC MAP IS SET UP
The academic map is set up to show students the ideal path to completing the degree in nine (9) semesters. Students who cannot take the map’s recommended number of credits each semester will take longer to complete the degree and graduate.
CSN BAS CARDIORESPIRATORY SCIENCES: DESCRIPTION
Cardiorespiratory Sciences is a multi-disciplined, multi-credentialed program preparing students in care, management, and life-support of individuals having deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system. A successful graduate of this program will be eligible to obtain credentials from the American Heart Association and the National Board for Respiratory Care. The Cardiorespiratory Sciences Program provides a quality academic experience preparing Respiratory Care Practitioners. The graduate will possess the attitudes, skills, and knowledge required to think critically, communicate effectively, and provide self-direction while administering care. The program emphasizes developing competencies that integrate protocols, Clinical Practice Guidelines, and critical pathways into an efficient cardiorespiratory care plan.
STUDENT NOTE: Prior to Semester #1. Apply to the Cardiorespiratory Sciences program and receive approval from the program director to enter the program.
A minimum grade point average of 2.0 is required to graduate.
