DESCRIPTION

The Associate of Arts degree in Computer Science is a general transfer program for students who are planning to transfer to baccalaureate-level institutions. A secondary objective is employment upon completion of the degree.

This program provides the knowledge and skills that leads to further, specialized study of Computer Science at a four-year college or university. It satisfies the first two years of most Computer Science degrees. The Associate of Arts degree includes skills in mathematics, communication (oral, written, and listening), systems programming, systems analysis and design, and computer science fundamentals.

REQUIRED: Your first college-level MATH course must be completed before reaching 30 total college-level credits.

For Students Planning to Transfer to UNLV:  Students transferring to UNLV for the BA Computer Science should complete MATH 127.  Students transferring to UNLV for the BS Computer Science should complete MATH 181.

Such preparatory or prerequisite courses are not part of the degree, may delay degree completion, and will cause the student to complete more credits than the total listed on this degree.
