DESCRIPTION
The Associate of Arts degree in Computer Science is a general transfer program for students who are planning to transfer to baccalaureate-level institutions. A secondary objective is employment upon completion of the degree.
This program provides the knowledge and skills that leads to further, specialized study of Computer Science at a four-year college or university. It satisfies the first two years of most Computer Science degrees. The Associate of Arts degree includes skills in mathematics, communication (oral, written, and listening), systems programming, systems analysis and design, and computer science fundamentals.

General Education Requirements
TOTAL GENERAL EDUCATION CREDITS: 32
Mathematics (3-4 Credits)
REQUIRED: Your first college-level MATH course must be completed before reaching 30 total college-level credits.
For Students Planning to Transfer to NSU: Complete MATH 127 for transfer into the BA Data Science. Complete MATH 181 for transfer into the BS Data Science.
For Students Planning to Transfer to UNLV: Complete MATH 181.
For Students Planning to Transfer to UNR: Complete MATH 181.
- MATH 127 - Precalculus II or above
REMINDER: If a student does not place into the correct college-level MATH course, they are required to complete a preparatory or prerequisite course(s) or attempt to gain a higher score on the MATH placement exam. Such preparatory or prerequisite courses are not part of the degree, may delay degree completion, and will cause the student to complete more credits than the total listed on this degree.
English Composition (6-8 Credits)
REQUIRED: Your first college-level ENG course MUST be completed before reaching 30 total college-level credits.

All students MUST fulfill this requirement. Course chosen may also be used to fulfill the corresponding general education or special program requirements.
ENG 231 or ENG 232 fulfills this requirement.
