DESCRIPTION

Upon successful completion of this certificate program, students will have completed the first year of CSN’s Associate of Arts - Computer Science.

This certificate includes skills in mathematics, communication (oral, written, and listening), computer programming, and computer science fundamentals.

NOTE: This program was primarily developed as a dual-credit high school program. It is the first year of study for the Associate of Arts: Computer Science.  High school students receive dual credit while attending high school and CSN. Ideally, a high school student can complete a bachelor’s degree in computer science in 3 years after graduation from high school. Non-high school students may also pursue this certificate.

REQUIRED: Your first college-level MATH course MUST be completed before reaching 30 total college-level credits.

PLEASE NOTE: A student stacking this certificate into CSN’s AA Computer Science should complete MATH 127, however if that same student will be transferring to UNLV (after AA completion) for the BA Computer Science, that student should complete MATH 127 while a student transferring to UNLV for the BS Computer Science should complete MATH 181.
