MT 116B - Advanced Automation with Robotics Credits: 3 Description Presents the principles of Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) applications, human-machine interface (HMI) usages, and robotic controls. Emphasis placed on programming PACs, HMIs, and robots. Troubleshooting PAC control systems will also be covered.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Create a working ladder logic and operator interface program and be able to download the programs to a PAC and HMI.
- Differentiate major hardware parts of PAC systems and how they are used together.
- Wire input and output devices to a PAC/HMI system and troubleshoot and debug the industrial application.
- Demonstrate programming of collaborative robot in various industrial applications.
- Use 3-D Cartesian coordinate systems to describe points, lines, and planes in space.
- Develop positive attitudes toward work, and cooperation and teamwork with others, by doing group labs.
Prerequisite: MT 115B with a grade of C or higher; or Instructor approval or Department approval. Corequisite: None Graded: Letter Grade
