BUS 273 - Business Law I

Description
This course provides business students a survey of the principal areas of business law. It explores the relationship between business and the law with respect to the following topics: torts, crimes, intellectual property, and contracts. Students also explore the relationship between business and the law with respect to constitutional law. Students gain a working knowledge of practical rules of law and legal terminology as well as legal solutions for business-related issues.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Describe and state laws and concepts applicable to the business environment.
  2. Interpret court opinions, statutory law and administrative decisions and the effect they have on the business environment.
  3. Identify areas of the law that overburdened the business environment and find remedies therefor.
  4. Explain the interrelationship between law, social, ethical business political and international issues and their impact on the workforce (labor and management) and international issues.
