BUS 273 - Business Law I Credits: 3 Description This course provides business students a survey of the principal areas of business law. It explores the relationship between business and the law with respect to the following topics: torts, crimes, intellectual property, and contracts. Students also explore the relationship between business and the law with respect to constitutional law. Students gain a working knowledge of practical rules of law and legal terminology as well as legal solutions for business-related issues.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Describe and state laws and concepts applicable to the business environment.
- Interpret court opinions, statutory law and administrative decisions and the effect they have on the business environment.
- Identify areas of the law that overburdened the business environment and find remedies therefor.
- Explain the interrelationship between law, social, ethical business political and international issues and their impact on the workforce (labor and management) and international issues.
