- Understand variable and fixed annuities as well as single premium life insurance.

- Describe the basic types of securities markets and the characteristics of organized exchanges.
- Understand the concept of return and the forces that affect the investor’s level of return.
- Explain the basic investment attributes of bonds and their appeals.
- Understand the behavior of market interest rates.
