Description Advanced study of chemical analysis of blood, urine and other body fluids in normal and abnormal physiological conditions to include endocrinology, toxicology, and special procedures.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Compare and contrast analytical methods used in Clinical Chemistry, including specimen requirements, advantages, disadvantages, and potential errors in testing.
- Describe the physiology of various organ systems and their clinically relevant testing procedures.
- Assess patient health status through the application of clinical chemistry principles, laboratory results, and physiology of various organ systems.
- Describe the physiology of various organ systems as it relates to drug absorption, distribution, elimination, and toxicology.
