CLS 493 - Clinical Practicum - Immunology/Immunohematology Credits: 4 Semesters Offered: Fall, Spring Campus/Sites Offered: Off-campus Offering Note: Off-campus at clinical sites.
Description Clinical rotation in Immunology/Immunohematology. Designed to gain applied experiences and develop entry-level competencies as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. Clinical experience may include up to 100% clinical simulation.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Apply CDC and OSHA procedures for safety in the clinical laboratory.
- Perform qualitative and/or quantitative testing using immunological techniques.
- Perform testing in immunohematology/transfusion medicine.
- Evaluate results for acceptability and recommend additional testing as appropriate.
- Exhibit professionalism with individuals and teams in various settings.
