Description
A basic course designed to introduce the International Residential Code, with emphasis placed on the development and proper use of residential building, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical code requirements.

Student Learning Outcomes

Describe the administrative provisions of the International Residential Code (IRC).
Identify the four divisions (building, mechanical, plumbing, electrical) of the IRC.
Develop an awareness of the provisions contained in the IRC.
Interpret the various tables in the IRC.
Explain the residential building inspector’s responsibilities.
