CRS 111 - Introductory Concepts of Cardiorespiratory Sciences Credits: 3 Description Presents an overview of health care delivery system and cardiorespiratory professional structures. Basic CRS care modalities are emphasized in context of clinical practice guidelines, therapist-driven protocols, and critical pathways.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Correctly administer/modify oxygen therapy using blood gases/pulse oximetry
- Identify situations in which bronchial hygiene techniques are indicated and apply them correctly
- Identify situations in which hyperexpansion techniques are indicated and apply them correctly
- Identify situations in which humidity or aerosol therapy is indicated and apply them correctly
- Identify side effect/complications of delivered therapy and correctly administer corrective actions
- Assess outcomes of delivered respiratory therapy introduced in the class and modify as needed
