MATH 122 - Number Concepts for Elementary School Teachers

Description
Mathematics needed by those teaching at the elementary school level, emphasizing problem solving as well as arithmetic and number concepts. This course DOES NOT satisfy the general education core requirements.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Solve problems involving basic algebraic concepts.
  2. Use sequences to create formulas and identify specific terms.
  3. Apply set theory concepts to solve problems that are abstract or concrete in nature.
  4. Use the properties of the four basic operations of arithmetic to solve problems involving numeration and number systems in bases other than 10.
  5. Solve problems involving the area and discrete models.
  6. Solve problems involving integers, fractions, decimals, and remainders.
  7. Solve problems involving the Greatest Common Factor and Least Common Multiple of a set of numbers.

Prerequisite: Satisfactory ACT/SAT/Placement Test score.
