THTR 204 - Theatre Technology I

Description
Fundamentals of technical theatre production with emphasis on scenic and lighting tools and techniques. This course requires participation in shop or run crews for departmental productions.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Outline personnel organizations in the entertainment industry and apply knowledge toward departmental production scenic or lighting crew positions.
  2. Model responsibilities and relationships of scenic and lighting technology and construction to the production process.
  3. Build scenic elements through problem-solving and knowledge of construction skills.
  4. Produce basic scenic, lighting, and prop elements from technical drawings for use in production.
  5. Create budgets for scenic and lighting projects by drafting working drawing and converting designs into material lists.
