ELEC 260B - Photovoltaic Systems II Credits: 3 Description This course format includes both classroom instruction and hands-on participation dealing with photovoltaic net-metering systems, hybrid, and battery based (off grid) system designs.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Comprehend and use photovoltaic related terminology.
- Interpret design elements of net-metering and battery based photovoltaic systems.
- Demonstrate understanding of battery safety, wiring and maintenance of a battery-based system.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of stand-alone/grid-tied with battery back-upland net-metering photovoltaic systems in reference to the National Electrical Code.
- Analyze a photovoltaic system and IT components, including the sizing of wiring and over current protection needed.
- Safely assemble, test and commission net-metering and battery based photovoltaic systems.
