Please Note: This course is for licensed education professionals who are renewing their license (this course is NOT part of CA, AAS, or AA education programs).
Student Learning Outcomes
- Evaluate family systems and the role of families in supporting development.
- Examine cultural perspectives influencing the relationships among families, school and communities.
- Analyze current values, assumptions and beliefs regarding parent involvement and potential personal bias.
- Differentiate between parent involvement and parent engagement to develop strategies allowing for collaboration with families, communities, colleagues, and other professionals to promote learner growth and development.
Prerequisite: Current Teacher Licensure or Departmental approval. Corequisite: None Graded: Letter Grade
