CIT 144 - Introduction to Data Analytics

Description
An introduction to data analysis that uses technologies and applications to analyze and clean up data; to classify, visualize and summarize sets of sample data; and to determine if the sample data reflects characteristics of populations. Uses Microsoft Excel and the programming languages R and Python.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Classify data variables by type.
  2. Calculate descriptive statistics for each data variable.
  3. Create charts for data variables.
  4. Infer population characteristics from sample data.
  5. Process data using Microsoft Excel (Math – computation).
  6. Process data using the programming languages R and Python.

Prerequisite: CIT 129   or Instructor approval.
