MOT 136 - Motorsports Engine Principles and Design

Description
This course introduces engine dynamics, theory of engine operation and characteristics of engine design. Studies in removal and repair, visual inspection,precision measuring, gaskets, lubricants, sealants, coolants of modern engines, and engine services.

Student Learning Outcomes
1. Explain the operating principles of both two- and four-stroke engines.

2. Explain the different configurations of both two- and four-stroke engines.

3. Perform motorcycle engine diagnostic procedures to determine engine viability.

4. Analyze various motorcycle parts for damage and wear, determine if parts meet manufacturer specifications.

5. Check and adjust intake and exhaust valves.

6. Perform basic motorcycle engine maintenance and repairs.
