NURS 311 - Online Learning Tools and Strategies Credits: 1 Description This course introduces students to successful strategies for using new and emerging technologies in the online learning environment. This course is designed to equip Registered Nurses (RNs) enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively navigate and utilize online learning tools and strategies in the context of nursing education and practice.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing various online tools (e.g., multimedia, simulations, interactive modules) for specific learning objectives.
- Apply the principles of online learning and its application in the context of nursing education.
- Utilize communication tools such as discussion boards, chat tab, and email within the LMS.
- Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other online platforms commonly used in nursing education.
- Analyze the role of asynchronous and synchronous learning activities in online nursing education.
- Reflect on personal learning experiences and adapt strategies to enhance online learning effectiveness in nursing education.
- Use the tools of web conferencing software to work synchronously with colleagues.
