Description
Over current protection using fuses/circuit breakers. Electrical load calculation. Telephone systems, circuitry, wiring, ISDN connections and cabling. Sound systems, air conditioning/refrigeration and motors.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Define DC and AC theory, Kirchoff’s Laws, and Thevenin’s and Norton’s Theorems.
- Describe the proper application of fuses and electrical protection using circuit breakers.
- Demonstrate how to calculate the parameters of range loads, residential loads and multi-family dwelling loads.
- Identify and define telephone systems.
- Define analog signals vs. digital systems.
- Define cabling standards and sound systems.
- Describe air conditioning and refrigeration fundamentals.
- Describe motor control drawings.
