ELEC 137B - OSHA 30 Credits: 2 Description OSHA policy and procedures pertaining to fall protection, electrical safety, materials handling, excavations, confined space, ladders, stairways, scaffolding, personal protective equipment and hazard communication.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Interpret OSHA policies and procedures in relation to the construction trades.
- Recognize requirements needed for fall protection systems including guardrails, personal fall arrest systems, safety nets, warning line systems, etc.
- Detect proper electrical safety procedures, material handling, storage and the use and disposal of said material Identify trenching and rigging injuries and identify the hazards associated with it.
- Confined working I also covered Indicate the proper use of ladders and stairways, and the safe construction of scaffolding.
- Identify, understand and know the limitations of personal protective equipment.
- Recognize hazards associated with chemicals at the workplace.
