PPF 101B - First Year Plumbers and Pipefitters Apprentice I Credits: 4 Description Job safety, use and care of tools, recognition of pipe and fittings, trade related math and science, rigging, drawing and blueprint reading, soldering, and brazing.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Measure pipe segments and fittings, understand and use formulas for 45 degree and other degree offsets, be able to measure and lay out risers and fixtures, set up and use a builders level.
- Read and interpret blueprints, draw piping installations in plan, elevation and isometric views.
- Understand the properties of water and know its application in the trade.
- Have a basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics and their applications in the trade.
- Recognize different metals and alloys and have a knowledge of their uses in the trade.
