Description
Job safety, use and care of tools, recognition of pipe and fittings, trade related math and science, rigging, drawing and blueprint reading, soldering, and brazing.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Measure pipe segments and fittings, understand and use formulas for 45 degree and other degree offsets, be able to measure and lay out risers and fixtures, set up and use a builders level.
  2. Read and interpret blueprints, draw piping installations in plan, elevation and isometric views.
  3. Understand the properties of water and know its application in the trade.
  4. Have a basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics and their applications in the trade.
  5. Recognize different metals and alloys and have a knowledge of their uses in the trade.
