Description
This course is designed to provide methods for teachers to invite and sustain parent engagement in their schools and programs.

Student Learning Outcomes

Evaluate family systems and the role of families in supporting development.
Examine cultural perspectives influencing the relationships among families, school and communities.
Analyze current values, assumptions and beliefs regarding parent involvement and potential personal bias.
Differentiate between parent involvement and parent engagement to develop strategies allowing for collaboration with families, communities, colleagues, and other professionals to promote learner growth and development.
